WFSA Announces 2017 Committee Project Funding
This week the WFSA is pleased to announce the 6 projects that have received Committee funding.
The projects include: “STOP! Post-operative Pain”, a pilot project to continue anaesthesia pain management training. The funding will also support the development of a teaching skills course in Malawi, the development of WFSA Global Anaesthesia Clinical Research, novel simulation-based training in Uganda for anaesthetic officers in low-resource settings, and a project to enhance patient safety with a new incident reporting scheme in Serbia.
Additionally, funding for Essential Pain Management (EPM) courses in Nigeria and workshops in Zambia was approved. EPM is a cost-effective, multi-disciplinary program, run in over 40 countries, and works with local health workers to improve pain knowledge, implement a simple framework for managing pain and address pain management barriers.
These projects will be implemented in the coming year as part of the initiatives of the WFSA Committees. Our Committee’s are essential to delivery and commit thousands of hours of volunteer time to the WFSA every year. For more information about them please click here.
