What training is offered?
Advanced speciality training in all aspects of obstetric anaesthesia including but not limited to anaesthesia for high risk obstetrics, pain relief in labour, recent advances in obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia, optimising foetal outcomes and perinatal care.
How is training assessed?
Fellows will be graded via varied means including observation and assessments of their clinical skills and knowledge during practical/hands-on training, cognitive assessments, an assessment of their log book and case reports and essays and other means of assessment if appropriate.
Are there any specific admission criteria for applicants?
Preference will be given to anaesthesiologists aged 40 years or younger who are working in African and Asian countries. Older anaesthesiologists may apply and the selection panel will consider each applicant’s place of work and other factors when making its decision.
